Organisations often underestimate their employees' resourcefulness. Humans deliver what is required but without the right conditions they will not offer beyond this. Tapping into the extra capabilities not instantly volunteered is a choice many organisations want to make. One approach is to emphasise engagement and overtly value employees as whole, rounded humans rather than only for their bottom line contribution. The issue of work-life balance is much talked about, little acted on because it's seen as a 'soft' extra. It isn't.
